Aspen Ladd started her combat sports training at the age of 14. Along with BJJ, she also trained in wrestling, boxing and kickboxing. In the age of 18, she made her debut as an amateur at WCFC. Ladd later went on to take down three opponents consecutively at Ultimate Reno Combat. All of her opponents had been defeated in the first minute. She then went back to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez via unanimous decision. Aspen was able to defeat Silvia Babaeghian as well as Maddy Simmons before fighting Cynthia Calvillo at WCFC 9.
